Ed Staehlin
Director of Product Management, Motorola

Ed Staehlin is a Director of Product Management at Motorola and leads the company’s initiatives for in-vehicle hands-free communications and portable navigation devices.  Ed launched this business unit in 2006 and has been building market share through improved styling.  From 2004 to 2006, he was Product Management Director in Motorola’s Digital Accessories category, growing revenues over 50% to over $100m and introducing three new products in a year.  He has been involved with Bluetooth products, as well as managed Motorola’s DIRECT web/call center business.  Prior to Motorola, Ed worked at iXL in Financial Services Strategy and at Accenture.  He is a graduate of Harvard Business School and the University of Illinois (with a BS in Finance).

Carlos Gomez
Digital Imaging Supervisor, BestBuy

Carlos Gomez started as a Media Supervisor (a position he held until 1993) and subsequently worked as a Video Supervisor (1994-1995).  He was then promoted to a Sales Manager for the entire store, in charge of 150 employees and $45 million in sales.  He subsequently held the position of Media Manager (1999-2001) and then Digital Imaging Supervisor, a position he is holding at present.  His responsibilities have included sales, inventory, and training of personnel.  His experience in the Home Theater, Audio, Wireless, and Digital Imaging departments has provided him with exposure to brands such as Sony, Phillips, Samsung, Kodak, Compaq, and HP, which has provided him with important insights on consumer preferences.  He has a BBA in Management and Marketing from Washburn University.
