President & COO of adMarketplace/Conducive Corporation
Adam serves as President & COO of adMarketplace/Conducive Corporation. Adam joined Conducive in November 2003 as General Counsel and served as General Manager of the adMarketplace Network. Prior to joining Conducive, Adam founded AlternaCast, which was the exclusive audio conferencing provider to PlaceWare before its acquisition by Microsoft. Prior to AlternaCast, Adam clerked for Chief Judge Richard A. Enslen of the United States District Court for the Western District of Michigan and was an associate with Schulte Roth & Zabel LLP in New York. Adam graduated from Columbia College and the University of Michigan Law School.
Michael Jacobs
Co-Founder, WebMogul
Michael, a noted search engine expert, co-founded WebMogul, one of the first SEO fi rms, and currently runs search and affiliate efforts for clients such as Yahoo! HotJobs, Dow Jones/The Wall Street Journal, Legal Sea Foods, eMusic, and Forbes Magazine. Before founding WebMogul, Michael was Director of Product Marketing for Expression Engines (now Epsilon Interactive). Previously, he was a venture capitalist with Interactive Capital, an early stage VC that invested in Internet and communications companies. Michael is a member of the Linkshare Affiliate Advisory Panel, a CJ Performer, and an invitee of the Google Advertiser Research Panel. He graduated magna cum laude from Yale University with a BA in Economics.
Eric Arenas
Business Optimization & Traffic Quality Manager, Yahoo!
Since 2005, Eric has been the Business Optimization & Traffic Quality Manager at Yahoo! He manages the revenue optimization and editorial process for more than 5 million websites and has reduced millions of unnecessary searches for key partners by improving their implementations, improving click-through rate, and reducing serving costs by $1 million per year. He oversees the traffic quality on more than 50 partners and over 5,000 subpartners. Eric devised a systematic process to manage the traffic quality in Domain Match and improved the ROAS (ROI for Advertisers) by more than 100% for key advertisers. Before coming to Yahoo!, Eric held positions with HP, Unisys, and Digital Equipment Corporation. He holds an MBA from The Fuqua School of Business at Duke University with an emphasis in High Tech Marketing.
Joe Myeress
eBay Powerseller, eBay
With sales of almost $6 million in 2005, Joe was one of the top 200 eBay sellers for that year. Joe was the E-Commerce Manager for Cord Camera, the Midwest’s largest photo retailer, before leaving in April 2006 to sell on his own. While at Cord Camera, his duties included setting up the eBay ID, setting rules for the workflow from sale to shipping, and page designs. Cord Camera had over 35,000 sales and only 10 negative marks, with total feedback of 99.9%. Joe has consulted with several Ohio businesses on using and selling on eBay. His work with eBay is included in the 2005 book, The eBay Millionaire, by Amy Joyner. He has been an eBay Powerseller for seven years.
Dean Carignan
Lead Strategist, Online Business Group, Microsoft
Dean is a Lead Strategist at Microsoft’s Online Business Group (formerly MSN). At Microsoft he is in charge of identifying emerging online technologies and business models before they become mainstream. He also develops monetization strategies for these new technologies (typically subscription or online advertising models). Prior to joining Microsoft, Dean managed McKinsey & Company’s eBusiness Practice, which advises Fortune 100 companies on their long-term strategies for web-based commerce. Dean holds an MBA from the joint INSEAD-Wharton program with a focus on technology management. He also holds a BS in Foreign Services from the Walsh School at Georgetown University.
Alexis Maybank
10 years of eCommerce and New Media experience
Alexis has over 10 years’ experience in eCommerce and New Media. She is currently working on a stealth mode eCommerce startup based in New York City. Most recently, Alexis served as the Director of Business Development and Strategy for AOL Media Networks, in charge of its six eCommerce businesses. Prior to that, Alexis was an entrepreneur in residence with General Catalyst in 2002. She joined eBay in 1998 as a founding member prior to the company’s IPO. Alexis initially worked with cofounder Jeff Skoll, as he created the company’s first strategic planning group for developing eBay’s new business units and its expansion into adjacent markets. Later she launched and ran eBay Canada (one of the company’s first international sites) and helped launch eBay Motors. Alexis holds an AB and an MBA from Harvard University.
