Dinesh Moorjani
Director of Emerging Business & Technologies, Samsung Electronics, New Business Development Group

Dinesh Moorjani built the satellite radio MP3 convergence business at Samsung and leads a team that sources and incubates Digital Media strategic businesses, executes deals, forges alliances, and oversees executive projects.  Previously, he worked with the Samsung Global Strategy Group (GSG), where, among his accomplishments, he co-created and marketed a hybrid storage product concept to leading OEMs for Samsung’s $2.2 billion flash memory business and conducted a computer manufacturing business unit audit and restructuring that resulted in an emerging market entry and IT portfolio strategy for Samsung’s $1.5 billion digital media computer business.  Dinesh earned his MBA from Harvard Business School.

Patrick Morris
Head of Strategic Planning and New Business Growth, Best Buy

Patrick Morris has been Head of Strategic Planning and New Business Growth at Best Buy from 2002 to 2006, working in the $7 billion consumer technology division of the $29 billion technology retailer.  His main responsibilities include: developing long-range digital entertainment concepts and launching new entrant business models in wireless mobile; online content distribution; and networked home categories.  He negotiated every Best Buy partnership, licensing deal, and joint-venture with digital music, movies, and gaming providers (such as Napster, Rhapsody, Apple, Netflix, Gamespy, Audible, Microsoft, and Sony) with a 26-times revenue increase in an emerging category.  Prior to Best Buy, Patrick served as Director of Strategic Planning and Business Development at Idealab and also worked at Deloitte Consulting.

Carlos Gomez
Digital Imaging Supervisor, BestBuy

Carlos Gomez started as a Media Supervisor (a position he held until 1993) and subsequently worked as a Video Supervisor (1994-1995).  He was then promoted to a Sales Manager for the entire store, in charge of 150 employees and $45 million in sales.  He subsequently held the position of Media Manager (1999-2001) and then Digital Imaging Supervisor, a position he is holding at present.  His responsibilities have included sales, inventory, and training of personnel.  His experience in the Home Theater, Audio, Wireless, and Digital Imaging departments has provided him with exposure to brands such as Sony, Phillips, Samsung, Kodak, Compaq, and HP, which has provided him with important insights on consumer preferences.  He has a BBA in Management and Marketing from Washburn University.

Co-Founder and Editor-in-Chief, Engadget

Peter Rojas is the Co-Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Engadget—a weblog with daily coverage of gadgets, consumer electronics, and personal technology—and the Co-Founder of Joystiq, a weblog covering the world of video games.  He is also the Chief Strategy Officer for Weblogs, Inc., the world’s largest blog network, and a Programming Director with AOL, the parent company of Weblogs, Inc.  He is a frequent commenter on technology for several radio and television programs and in 2005 served as a guest host on G4’s “Attack of the Show.” Prior to founding Engadget, Peter served as the Editorial Director of technology weblog Gizmodo, as a Contributing Editor at Cargo, as an Editor-at-Large at Sync, as technology editor of VMan (Visionaire’s men’s fashion magazine), as a columnist on emerging technology for British newspaper The Guardian, and as a features and news writer for the original
Red Herring.  He was educated at Harvard University and the University of Sussex (UK) and resides in New York City.
