Job Title: Analyst/Associate Hardline Retail

Job Description:

  • Provide analytical support to Senior Hardline Retail Analyst by generating statistical and financial models/forecasts on specific companies within Hardline Retail sector.
  • Gather and analyze data from a variety of internal and external resources, including, but not limited to: proprietary internal data sources, company documents and materials; SEC/regulatory filings such as annual reports and 10Ks; industry publications; and online data services.
  • Help write, edit, and publish equity research reports incorporating insights derived from our proprietary financial and statistical models.
  • Monitor company news and events and perform other related duties as assigned.

Reporting Relationship:

Will report directly to the Senior Hardline Retail Analyst

Professional Qualifications:

  • Background in statistics/computer science and/or finance/economics
  • Strong analytical skills with an ability to clean and dissect quantitative and qualitative information. Experience with database software, particularly SQL is a major plus.
  • Ability to work quickly and effectively within a high-pressure environment with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrable basic financial knowledge
  • Intensely curious

Education:

  • Minimum of a 4-year degree, preferably in computer science, statistics, economics, mathematics, engineering, finance or other program that is technical and quantitative in nature.
  • CFA charter holder or candidate a plus.
