Job Title: Vice President of Sales

Job Description:

  • Systematically call on securities firms, money managers, hedge funds, and other equity market participants where Majestic Research's expertise is relevant.
  • Act as relationship manager to new and existing customers to ensure that client expectations are met and exceeded, and provide on-going support to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Proactively pursue sales leads and identify/pursue new client relationships; prepare and deliver effective sales presentations to prospective customers; complement existing relationships.
  • Develop and maintain an active/current list of prospects and develop sales plans for targeted companies; update customer and company contact information; maintain presentations, proposals and general sales records regarding ongoing sales activities.
  • Gather market intelligence and contribute to pricing, packaging, and new opportunities for product development in order to meet changing client needs.
  • Manage the full sales life cycle encompassing identification, face-to-face presentation to key decision-makers, responses to requests for proposals, contract negotiations, successful close and client support.
  • Provide daily/weekly/monthly reports to the Sales Manager as required and participate in ongoing training and developmental programs.

Reporting Relationship:

The Vice President of Sales will report to the Sales Manager.

Professional Qualifications:

Qualified candidates must possess:

  • At least five years’ experience with a minimum of three years of sales preferably in the financial services sector.
  • An intimate knowledge of and experience in selling data, software, or research products into the financial services industry, preferably by virtue of a subscription-based model.
  • Understanding of financial markets, institutional broker/dealers, and investment banks; knowledge of investment research products and services is a plus.
  • Demonstrated success in the full sales life cycle encompassing prospecting, cold calling, qualifying prospective customers, assessing client needs, utilizing strong closing techniques, and maintaining those relationships.
  • Outstanding verbal, written, and presentation skills with the facility to communicate clearly and effectively. Ability to initiate the sales process through a succinct and targeted phone presentation plus strong communication skills for one-on-one and large group presentations.
  • A demonstrated track record of consistent communication with clients, both on the phone and in person.
  • A high level of motivation; the drive to take initiative and to work both independently and as a team member; a self-starter.
  • Strong business development experience with the ability to sell in to (and represent Majestic Research) at all levels within an organization.
  • Proven ability to maintain a high level of activity to reach an aggressive set of sales goals and objectives.
  • Proficiency in synthesizing feedback from prospects and clients and communicating back to Majestic with input for continuous product improvement.
  • Exceptional ability to proactively identify client needs and provide sound solutions.
  • Superior follow-through skills.
  • Ability to work with structure, focus, and determination under minimum supervision.

Education:

A bachelor's degree is required, preferably in finance, economics, or marketing. An MBA is a plus.

Compensation:

An attractive compensation package will be offered to the successful candidate consisting of a base salary plus commission and comprehensive benefits.
